Rev. Dr. Timothy W. Storms, Sr. Bio

The Rev. Timothy W. Storms, Sr., is a son of the Third Episcopal District of African Methodism. The youngest child born to the union of Rev. Joseph W. Storms, Jr.(Deceased) and G. Roberta Storms (Cleveland Heights), our Pastors early exposure was traveling the district with his father as he carried out his responsibilities as the Presiding Elder of the Youngstown then Cleveland District. Rev. Storms is the brother of the Rev. Deborah Marshall (Belpre, OH), Joseph W. I (Deceased) and Deirdre L (Shaker Heights).

Rev. Storms is a graduate of M. L King High School in Philadelphia, Pa. Upon graduation, he  joined the United States Marine Corps where he served for twelve years. Once honorably discharged, Rev. Storms continued his education at Allen University, Columbia, SC, where he graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration. He then pursued his Master of Divinity at the Candler School of Theology at Emory University in Atlanta, GA. While pursuing his master’s degree, he was introduced to the world of Chaplaincy that resulted in serving as a career which culminated in his retirement as a Staff Chaplain from the Department of Veterans Affairs in 2019. In 2016, he received his Doctorate of Ministry (DMin) with the focus of Prophetic Preaching and Praxis from the United Theological Seminary in Dayton Ohio. 

Rev. Storms has pastored and assisted at several churches throughout our Zion. In the Seventh Episcopal District (South Carolina), Rev. Storms pastored the Helena Circuit Newberry (St. Mary’s and Brown Chapel), Greater Hopewell in White Rock, Piney Grove West Columbia, Stover Chapel Columbia and St. Mathew’s Newberry. In the Third Episcopal District, he has served the pastoral charges of St. Paul Milford, Allen Chapel Portsmouth and assisted at Allen Temple Cincinnati under the dynamic leadership of the Rev. Dr. Alphonse Allen, Jr..  While in Florida, he was blessed to assist at Mt. Herman Fort Lauderdale (Rev. Meyers Pastor) and in Georgia at Bethel Lithonia under the outstanding leadership of the Rev. Dr. Mark W. Thompson.

Rev. Storms is the father of three: Timothy W. Jr., Krystal D. and Devyn J., grandfather of one Timothy W. III (Trey), the uncle to a host of nephews and nieces and friend to all.
